It’s common knowledge in the industry that ice cream flavors are often released and announced during the dead of winter. Not only does this give grocers and other stores a chance to stock up on the latest flavors and offerings but consumers a chance to get an idea of what to expect before things warm up.

So what are the hottest (er, coldest) flavors to look out for this season? Companies both big and large are starting to announce their latest flavors. Here’s what to dish up.

1. Deep Sea Treasure (Perry’s Ice Cream)

Caramel is a hard flavor to hate. But this flavor will make you fall in love with caramel all over again. Family owned company Perry’s Ice Cream recently announced this new flavor, which offers a bounty of caramel in every spoonful. Salty caramel swirls seal the deal while sea salt caramel truffles highlight the sweet caramel throughout.

2. Peach Melba (Ben and Jerry’s)

Summer is a time to enjoy fresh fruits and sweet treats. This peachy keen flavor offers both. Peach Greek yogurt is melded together with fresh peach chunks and raspberry swirls, making it a great way to say hello to summer.

3. Cinnamon Bun (Perry’s Ice Cream)

Perry’s Ice Cream also strikes gold with this unique flavor. Cinnamon flavored ice cream is given a boost with graham bits and white icing. It’s rich, delicious, and offers that Cinnabon quality straight from your freezer.

4. Cookie Core Ice Creams (Ben and Jerry’s)

One of the most popular trends as of late are ice creams featuring cookie cores. With a center that features a sort of crunchy cookie dough filling, they’re sweet, rich and oh so indulgent. Ben and Jerry’s is releasing three cookie core ice creams this year, including Spectacular Speloosh, Boom Chocolatta, which features a chocolate cookie center, and Peanut Buttah, which features peanut butter cookies.

5. German Chocolate Cake (Perry’s Ice Cream)

And Perry’s hits another home run with this rich German chocolate flavored cake. With coconut and pecans, this flavor actually took top honors as this year’s most innovative flavor at the International Dairy Foods Association’s Innovative Ice Cream Flavor Competition. While cake flavored ice creams aren’t new when it comes to ice cream, it’s one of the best interpretations we’ve seen in a while when it comes to replicating the dessert in a frozen edition.

6. Black Swamp Raspberry Cheesecake (Publix)

You don’t usually think of a supermarket as being a hot place to pick up a new flavor. But this flavor came in third place at the Innovative Ice Cream Flavor Competition. A rich blend of raspberries and cheesecake seals the deal here. Cheesecake is a hard flavor to hate and this flavor is a perfect one to kick back with during summer months when you’re looking for something a little more indulgent.

7. Orange Cream (Yuengling)

Dreamsicles are a summer classic. Yuengling hits big with this interpretation of the popular dessert. It’s rich and creamy but still manages to melt lightly on the tongue with a bright pop of citrus flavor.

8. Caramel Popcorn (Yuengling)

Caramel is a natural when it comes to ice cream. Popcorn, however, may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to a new and exciting ice cream flavor. But don’t let that throw you off. Yuengling’s Caramel Popcorn flavor is pleasantly salted and richly infused with caramel.

9. Coffee and Donuts (Jack Nicklaus)

Donuts may not be thought about as a summer specific treat but golfer Jack Nicklaus’ take on the popular breakfast snack leads to a sweet frozen treat that’s balanced out by the rich, strong flavors of coffee. While this flavor won’t be available until 2016, it’s a new flavor to enjoy come next summer.

10. Guava (Magnolia)

Just in time for summer, Magnolia ice cream is releasing a new guava flavor. With a light guava flavor, it’s sweet and all natural, made with fruits and organic cream.

11. The Tonight Dough (Ben and Jerry’s)

Inspired by comedian Jimmy Fallon’s the Tonight Show, this indulgent flavor features both caramel and chocolate ice cream with bits of chocolate cookie. But if that wasn’t enough, this ice cream also features generous gobs of chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie dough. The flavor was released in honor of Fallon’s first full year as Tonight Show host, one of the longest running talk shows on television. It sounds like a pretty sweet way to mark a milestone if you ask us.
